Jack A. Markell Trail

WILMINGTON, DE

This trail that can be up to a half marathon if taken all the way to New Castle and back is a great trail for a low-stress run. There are only a couple of street crossings on this trail. You get to see all the beautiful views of the Russell Peterson Wildlife Refuge. This concrete and asphalt trail is easy to navigate and easy to shorten since it is an out-and-back. Virtually pancake-flat, it is perfect for anyone looking for an easier run or wanting to do some speed work.  If you run all the way to New Castle you can enjoy the view at the park of the Delaware River.
