Dear Coach(s),
We
would like to invite you and your cross-country team to the 3rd annual 4 x XC
Relay Meet at The Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia on September 12, 2009.
We
hope that you will be excited by our format and will consider us when
organizing your schedule. In so many ways, this meet is an ideal way to
kick off your 2009 cross country season!
Last year some of the top teams in PA, DE and NJ competed, we would like
to add your team to this incredible event.
We
are very fortunate to have Bryn Mawr Running Company and Adidas serving as our
meet sponsors! We have attempted to make the meet an enjoyable experience for
you and your athletes. This meet will include a:
1)
Junior
varsity division with a separate two mile race for girls and boys where schools
can enter an unlimited amount of runners
2)
Girls
and boys varsity races will compete over
the same two mile course, but in the form of a four person relay that
will cover a total of eight thrilling miles. Schools can enter up to two teams
of four runners in the varsity races
3)
“Open
Race” for non-high school runners over two loops of the two mile course.
Coaches run for free while all others pay $5 the day of the race

Bryn Mawr Racing Co.
Let's talk about the races....
COURSE: Upon registration, a work glove (serving as a relay
baton) will be issued to each relay team competing in the varsity
division. The girls' and boys' relay distances will be both 4 X 2 miles run
entirely on grass and dirt trails. The girls varsity race will start five
minutes after the boys varsity to avoid the afternoon heat and to add more
excitement to the races. The junior varsity runners will complete only one 2
mile loop as individuals.
ENTRY FEES:
Entry fees will be as follows:
The entry fee is $90 dollars per team, or $180 per school if
both girls and boys teams are attending.
Please make checks payable to
"Bryn Mawr Running Company" and forward the check with the entry
blank to:
Ryan Walsh
122 Calvarese Lane
Wayne, PA 19087
Since this meet falls at the beginning
of the cross country season, we realize that it might be difficult with the
entry fee so just bring it with you to the meet or mail it later on.
ENTRY FORM:
Please fill out the accompanying entry form and return it to me or the store by
the Wednesday, September 9, 2009 deadline. Entries can be sent in by mail (see
above address), e-mail (rjwalsh@cbsd.org), or FAX (610) 527-3241. For
organizational purposes, we would appreciate an accurate number of varsity
teams and an approximate number of junior varsity runners entered on the entry
blank.
AWARDS: We are going deep with the awards! Awards will
include gear from Adidas and the Bryn Mawr Running Co. Top ten teams in each
varsity division and the top 30 individuals in each junior varsity race will
win awards! Last year the top teams left
with high quality Adidas gear.
INFORMATION: If you have any questions regarding the meet, please
contact Ryan Walsh at: (484) 686-5900 or e-mail: rjwalsh@cbsd.org
( Note: I have enclosed two copies
of the race information and application for those schools who have separate
coaches for the boys’ and girls’ programs, would you please forward the second
copy to the boys/girls coach at your school, thanks.)
Sincerely yours,
Ryan Walsh
